As part of the regeneration work of Redruth & Camborne, Cornwall CC laid a new asphalt footway through Manningham Woods, Illogan. And rather than leave the local residents with a black tarmac finish, they wanted to dress the surface with a local aggregate that was more in keeping with the rural area. The job proved to be quite a challenge as the path ran through woods and along the edge of a field and was only 1.5m wide! Using Castle Granite from near Penzance, the path was surface dressed using a special blend of bitumen binder.
